14th of February Sigrid Moldestad release her fourth solo album, " Brevet til kj\u00e6rleiken," which is a tribute to the poet Jan- Magnus Bruheim and his 100th anniversary .<\/p>\n
With the musician and producer Kato Adland on her team, Sigrid Moldestad has created a challenging and beautiful album , trimmed and rough, rhythmically driving and melancholy longing . An intersection of folk , pop and roots music .<\/p>\n
Sigrid has an excellent team of musicians with her on this album who plays langeleik , jews harp, guitars , fiddles , drums and harmonium interchangeably . Sigrid Moldestad is standing in the centre, with her communication of powerful lyrics, which have transformed from Jan-Magnus Bruheims poems to songs.All are composed of Moldestad herself.<\/p>\n
" When I was asked to make a record of his poems for the 100th anniversary , I went systematically and began reading everything he had done. I was soon gripped by the deep seriousness in many of the lyrics of Jan -Magnus Bruheim – The big words. I think he was a particularly brave man . Though one should not look at all poetry as autobiographical , you can feel that there is a lot of him in all his poems . In that sense , he wrote incredibly revealing , honest and brave. My goal has been to make the poems into viable songs. I hope I have succeeded in this," explains Sigrid Moldestad .<\/p>\n

The singer , fiddler , songwriter and storyteller Sigrid Moldestad have a strong identity in folk music , fiddle and norwegian lyrics. With loads of energy , humor and musical intellect , she leaves forever listeners hungry for more. Her music can be full of life one moment , and then take an unexpected turn towards the sad, beautiful and dark . As a former winner of two Norwegian Grammy Awards and named ‘ Folk Musician of the year " in 2010 , she is one of the most popular- folk artists.<\/p>\n
Jan- Magnus Bruheim (1914-1988) was born in Skj\u00e5k , but lived several years in Moldestads home county. Almost the entire album is recorded in the old school house he lived in, by the sea in Bremanger .<\/p>\n
" The title of the album was chosen from one of his books. A lyrical prose book with lyrics about \u00ablove\u00bb , in its broadest sense. About how it is to be human and compassionate . There is something incredible longing in his words . Longing is something we all recognize ourselves in and is a driving force in all his life , I think. The way he discuss life’s most beautiful and most difficult driving force was in many ways my clue in the process. It has been a long and arduous journey to do this, but also a privilege to immerse myself so much in a poet’s life and work ,
