Old ballads and rare instruments

Aurora Borealis is an ensemble for middle age music, established in 1995. The group combines
inherited singing and plaing stiles with knowledge about musicianship and arrangement techniques of the middle ages. On their debut album HARPA, the group presents music from the 14th century, full of exciting stories of love and jealousy. The ballad on the recording is one of the oldest in Scandinavia, and the instrumentation is exclusively nordic folk instruments typical in Scandinavia in the middle ages.
